Siemens: Power Supplies - SITOP Facets

Taking care of special applications: The SITOP facets

The smallest SITOPs

The new mini power pack with an output current of 0.5 A for alternating current networks and the 0.375 A model for direct current networks are the latest innovations. Just 22.5 mm in width, these minis are ideal for powering 24 V low-voltage switching devices. You can use inexpensive time and monitoring relays instead of expensive special voltage models. The extremely light-weight, DIN rail devices are also suitable for universal use even under the most rugged of industrial environments. The generous input voltage and temperature range makes this possible.

Under very rugged conditions

The 10 A power supply with protection rating IP65 can be used in very rugged industrial environments. In any mounting position, it can withstand ambient temperatures of -25° to +55°C. The 24 V/2 A and 5 A Outdoor models in SIMATIC S7-300 design can even handle temperatures of -25° to + 70°C as well as increased vibration and shock.

For high network voltages

The 2-phase, primary, switching controller is perfect for industrial networks with high alternating current voltages. The special wide-range input permits connection to 3-phase networks with nominal voltages between 500 and 600 Volt.

Where space is at a premium

The very compact 5 A and 10 A units are in a flat design; their salient features are an extremely flat profile and rugged design. They are the ideal solution in situations where space restrictions call for minimum mounting depths in machines supporting frames, for instance, or mounted directly on hinged bays or U sections. Their external designs are matched specially to the SIMATIC ET200B distributed I/O system. And the 3.5 A unit is ideally matched to the SIMATIC S7-200 line.

In AC and DC networks

Without any problems, you can plug units into a single-phase broadband input without having to switch over to 120 or 230 Volt AC and likewise for DC networks from 110 to 350 Volt. So the 2 A DC/DC converter´s input range may vary from 38 to 121 Volt.

Utilize inertia during power failures

The SITOP 600 V DC input units were developed especially for inverter drives. They use the inertial energy of the rotating flywheel of machine tools, textile or paper-making machines, to maintain 24 V control power during machine shutdown, even after power failures.
